As a retired widower, Percy leads a solitary existence in Gorleston, a decaying seaside town. Then he meets Queenie, a flirtatious widow, who becomes his obsession. Percy grows suspicious of Queenie’s elusive behaviour and her past, and is forced to look into the shadows of his own life.
