Louise Doughty is the author of eight novels, including the Top Ten bestseller Apple Tree Yard which has been made into a BBC series starring Emily Watson. Her sixth novel, Whatever You Love, was shortlisted for the Costa Novel Award and longlisted for the Orange Prize for Fiction. She is a critic and cultural commentator for UK and international newspapers and television. She is a former judge of the Man Booker Prize and lives in London.  Black Water is her most recent novel.
